Head over here and grab this kernel:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=11666

I'd start with the 2.2.40 and if that works, move up to the 2.4s. Make
sure you do not uncompress it, leave it a .gz file.

Those are the kernels I'm using with great success.

If you are using any modules, you might need to grab the modules package
too.
