Hello. This might sound like a really silly solution to the 7.5.3. problem, but that's never stopped me before! Perhaps you live close to a university with an engineering dept. You might find someone there that is multi-lingual and computer-efficient. They might come over in exchange for a home-cooked meal and the two of you might (1) find some interesting stuff on that computer before you wipe it clean, and (2) replace that OS (if you have the disks in hand.)
