with the older versions of the mac os, i doubt it.  with linux or bsd etc. possibly.  
in
any case, it's not worth worrying about, it would still be way, way too slow for seti 
and
like that.  i like the q700, but it's just not up to major, major number crunching like
what's needed for seti and similar projects (i have one, and want another one). 
definitely don't trash the nice little machines, i do love them since they have the 
small
iici form factor.  also, for less critical use i'll be offering a clock chipping 
circuit
soon that's better than the older approach and won't require soldering.  i'll also be
checking with my q700 to see if i can put in a faster processor, if i can bump it up 
to 33
or 40 mhz with a faster processor and clock chipping i'll really like it!
