The warning is fine. The write command is terminated when the tape position is not at the append point, the server then would position the tape to appropriate append point and continue with the writes (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSGSG7_7.1.4/srv.reference/r_opt_server_checktapepos.html)
Please attach the errors reported at TSM server end.
