The Maplin link says that there is no software for this - is it not needed or do you have to write your own? Unless it is going to be your only form of speedometer why wire it to come on as soon as the engine starts - why not switch it on and off as required like any other accessory? Not having seen such a unit operating I wonder if the display is visible under all lighting conditions, not to mention heavy rain, sleet and snow.
