Consider head swollen :-) However Martin has the benefit of RWD, probably traction, stability and lots of other stick to the road type gadgets, and mostly factory built to take that kind of power.. Plus of course 425 bhp from a supercharged 4.2 is hardly stressed and probably makes that power at about 300 rpm!
Go on Martin bigger pullies, etc get that boost up to one or two bar ;-) I'm sure you can find another 200 bhp without too much trouble. Oh and you don't need a radar detector.. Cameras and vans etc tend to only be on either big roads (m/ways, dual carriage ways, bypasses etc) or in or around built up areas and other places where it's less appropriate. Certainly around our way (and Thames Valley was one of the original hypothecation* regions) you don't find them on the quiet back roads where you can really enjoy a powerful car (and even getting up to 60 mph is a challenge).. Don't turn into one of those people that can only drive fast in a straight line! This is where the quantum has the benefit, even with a smaller 1.4 for example - and Irish rocket fuel ;-), given a bit of practise on twisties you can easily keep up with things much more exotic. Just ask the Irish rocket fuel man! *the scheme where the police kept the money and built more and more camera sites.
