Strictly speaking, the car with which you propose to trail your Q might not be
considered legal and probably would prevent you being able to hire a trailer.
I had all this when I was hoping to trail my Beauford home but none of the
local trailer hire companies would let me hire a trailer with anything less
than an engine size of 3 litres. £1/mile sounds good as this was the best deal
5 years ago that I could get.

When I collected my Q from Stourbridge, I borrowed a trailer form a friend and
used Trish's 1600 Toyota Carina. This really was a marginal case and anything
greater than 60 mph up motorway hills was out simply on available power so I
took pity on the car and kept the speed down.

Subject: [Quantum Owners] Transporting a 2+2

  Hi all,

At some point I'm going to have to get my 2+2 from Bristol out to where I
live now in Bishop's Stortford, it's going to need an MOT and tax so I
can't just take a train and then drive it back.

I've been considering hiring a car transporter and bring it back that way
(much preferred), or buying a towbar for my Focus and hiring a trailer for
  the day.

Does anyone have any other suggestions / recommendations for hire
  companies?

  Tony
