If you make the butt joint obvious then it doesn't stand out. I know that probably doesn't make too much sense, but if you cannot avoid a join then fold the material that will go over the top back upon itself to make a really nice line (iron the crease in if you can). It then looks deliberate and no one apart from you should really notice it anymore. Matthew
