When I tested with the handbrake no light came on! The tag to the bolt on the handbrake wasn't making circuit due to the paint on the handbrake. Once sorted, only the handbrake light comes on when the handbrake is applied, but good news is that the brake fluid test light comes on when the key is in the crank position - thus testing the light, so should be ok. My idea of putting the wires across so only one light is used wouldn't work, as I found out the handbrake is earth switching, and the fluid level is live switching........ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Hearne" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 21, 2009 9:49 AM Subject: [Quantum Owners] Re: SVA brake warning light
From memory doesn't the handbrake warning light also make the brake low warning light come on as it's connected via a diode. On some fiesta looms there is also a pair of wires going to the ignition switch connector which is some sort of test for that warning light but it never seems to be connected. Maybe thats only in Europe ?
