Can someone who's passed SVA shed some light? - It seems there must be a means of testing the circuit to show the bulb is working, presumably because the fluid level could drop and if the bulb was duff who would know. No problem thought I because I have the light coming on when the handbrake is on! Not so..... I found today the instrument cluster has separate warning lights for the footbrake and handbrake! The only way I can think of doing it neatly is to remove the bulb from the handbrake warning light and blank the aperture, adding a link across the printed circuit board so that there is only one warning bulb, earthed via either the brake fluid level switch or the handbrake - thus the handbrake application showing the bulb lighting should satisfy the SVA tester?
