It's not your fan kicking in is it? (or some other load starting) If the engine is causing the car to shudder (as in physically detectable by some form of motion) then it must be speeding up or slowing down. The XR2 rev counters are pretty inaccurate anyway and doubtful you'd notice them change reading as they don't move fast enough. I can see such things on my 2+2 when I have the laptop connected to the ECU but can't tell on the XR2 rev counter. Matthew

Are the revs hunting or is it almost stalling then recovering? My 1800 used to hunt by 200 rpm or so and I can't remember if I fixed it or not. Certainly it did something a bit odd and resetting the ECU sorted it out once.
