My diesel turbo 2+2 has a 3.33 final drive, about 2,800 RPM @70mph,
which aids economy,but does not give a rapid take off, 59MPG on a long
run, 57MPG normal use. The only way I check fuel economy is to fill to
the brim, then drive 300/400 miles & fill to the brim again. If you
are really keen you can record every time you fill up & then work it
out over a year!
