I got 9.1mpg in a Flying Spur on a blast across Germany last week. You get very used to forecourts driving a Bentley. Reminds me of a trip I made with one of my colleagues. We drove through Germany in his Lotus Cortina Mkll at speeds up to 110 mph and managed to just about outpace a Renault 4 - due to the frequency of our stops and the R4's frugality with fuel.
