Hi all, I recently swapped my 1600 zetec engine (1996) for a slightly newer , also 1996 engine, but there are some differences. The intakemanifold on the old engine is alloy, the newer is plastic. The swap took a while, but everything went in place. Only an intake air temp sensor was not connected because there used to be none. All went well, but after a drive on the motoway i noticed lack of power. On the return journey the engine rocked about at 30mph. When climbing in the revs on full throttle, it staggers at 4000rpm. Releasing the throttle a bit "releases"more power and it climbes to 6500 rpm smoothly. It's hard to describe, because it doesn't happen all the time. What can it be?
The oxygen sensor replaced(coulored red , due to additives (?) accoring to Bosch. Tried old throttle position sensor on newer throttlehousing. Tried to replac the airmass sensor, but not yet possible due to "plumbing"problems... Tried resetting the computer. Does any zetec specialist have a clue?
