Just trickle a hose around, you will hear the sound change as the
water is sucked into the gap.

Checked all vaccum lines, so must be from the inlet manifold where it
meets the block.
Not the best access in the world.

I put this down to the fuel pump being a pretty beefy one and it could
just be the sound of the fuel flying around, im really not too sure
though.
Going out there not to fit the spare ISV that i know works.

I had a similar problem with an RS Turbo engine. The revs would not drop
below 1300. When checked the idle speed control valve turned out to be coked
up.
The gasket for the valve was hard to come by. I got the last one that the
dealer had. You might have to make your own one.
I guess you will have looked thoroughly for air leaks which can cause a
similar problem.
