Hi Chris,

It needs to be changed every 5-7 year if you do not reach the miles . . .
I did not know that either - found out the hard way - - vales bent etc..

Drop from underneath
I put the car on bricks ca. 90cm high - than you can lower the engine, gearbox + beam, driveshafts, shocks all in one. Remove the brake claws, hang them on a wire so you don't damage the brakeline.
Now you can work on the engine.
and see if anything els needs replaceing, jus as a precaution.

Hans

Subject: [Quantum Owners] CVH Cambelt Change

What's the recommended cambelt change interval for a CVH? I've seen
36,000 miles mentioned on the net, but it doesn't do that sort of
mileage, so how many years? My factory built saloon MK2 (1900cc Vulcan
CVH) is now 15 years old, and the belt was last changed when Quantum
was at Stourbridge, I guess around 2001 or 2002 ' ish?

I'll get my locally friendly garage to do the work, so I wonder if
anyone has an idiot's guide on how to change the belt? Is it question
of dropping the engine from underneath?

Chris.
