As far as I aware (please correct me if I am wrong) there is no noise 
limit quoted for MOT test and it is not measured. I have heard of an 
Astra being failed because the exhaust was significantly noisier than 
other Astra. It would be difficult to do this with a kit car as it's 
unlikely testing stations will be able to use that criteria. Obviously, 
new cars have to go through IVA which does have a noise limit and 
test.
