Nice to see LED headlight technology. It's not really that expensive when an original HID setup option is generally £1000+, although I'm not going to be splashing out on either at any time soon ;-)
We designed some land rover spot lights that used household halogen 12v bulbs, it worked well. So I was wondering why we hadn't used fluorescent lights. The high frequency units give off a lot of light for the power an price. I guess filament bulbs are simply easier and HID an LED will overtake fluro at some point for price vs function.
