Hi learnerd quantum owners, last year while travelling to the
stoneliegh show the handling on our H4 became shall I say interesting,
lifting the throttle would have the car pulling to the right, anyhow
we got there and home again in one piece and I found that the near
side bottom suspension arm rubbers were cracking up allowing the
steering to wonder. The arm was changed and the tracking set, fast
forward 12 months, recently the front end of the car has become vague
it shimmies like a hula girls hips when I accelerate and one checking
the tracking it was way out, I looked at both bottom arms again ,
these were fine both looking like new and nothing else suspicious was
seen. The tracking has been reset and both track rods are showing
almost the same amount of threads, both very close to 29mm. Does
anyone know how long the threaded end is, I could always unscrew one
of mine but now the trackings set I don't want to disturb it unless I
have to, so if anyone has one on the bench I would be grateful for the
information, I don't really want to drive it when there may only be a
few mm holding it together. Many thanks guys.
