I've had a similar problem with the clutch on my 2+2 over the years. My current working solution is to modify the auto adjustment quadrant to increase the distance from the pivot to the cable, thus increasing the amount of cable moved when pushing the pedal. This modification consists of 4 countersunk 15mm bolts (about M6 I think) going through the quadrant and refitting the cable over the bolts.
As this problem shouldn't exist anyway, I did a little delving into the root cause. The most popular theory is the pressure fingers on the clutch cover softening over time and not releasing the clutch properly. I haven't changed the clutch cover on mine at all, not even on build (in '93), so this makes sense to me.
