The sensor should screw into an aluminium casting which in turn is screwed into the block from inside the bell housing. The hole in the aluminium is slotted in one direction on the outside which should let you tilt the sensor to get it out once the screw is undo. If it's been in there for a while there may be a fair bit of corrosion of the aluminium around the sensor stopping it moving to the side.

Hi,

I wonder if anyone knows about the CVH 2 litre engine? I am trying to get a
replace the Crankshaft sensor and found a dimensional problem.

It is very tight up against a section of the engine casting when withdrawing
the sensor. This makes it very difficult to remove and I did not want to force
it out as it seems to be working but I was recommended to change it as a
precaution as they break down with heat and time. How have you fitted them
before? Is it just a case of a bit of force and no clearance? It is still
engaged in the hole when fully back against the casting. But someone did get
this one in!

Any experience of this, anyone?
