Hi Calvin, Removing the manifold is straight forward, as I took mine off to weld it. Mine is a manifold and downpipe combi (2 inches compared to XR2 1 3/4 inches) I unbolted it from the system and manifold bolts and removed the starter motor and it drops straight down. Should be easier it if the original 2 piece manifold and downpipe.
