I agree with Ian... I Never touch the windscreen to clear it; if I can help it - I rely upon the Blower.
I always found wet / damp newspaper as a good glass cleaner. Finish off / polish with Dry newspaper - it does leave your hands dirty though.... It works well enough to only need doing every couple of months, but the trick is not touch or wipe the screen to clear it - ever. I use the blower to clear the screen before driving. But then again, this is my tin top... The Xtreme screen gets leathered every drive!
