Hi Jim,
Thanks for your response, engine is just a standard MK2 XR2 CVH, the only
performance addition is a K&N type air filter but otherwise totally
standard.
I'm led to beleive my mechanic used a combination of the old & new
quadrants, when first replaced there was virtually no pedal at all so this
is when he combined the 2 items & I'm sure he has spaced out also.
Prior to this being carried out the clutch pedal sat approx an inch lower
than the other pedals, it now sits level but behaves as before...low bite
point & generally not possible to obtain a smooth movement without a
kangeroo & judder effect!
My 2+2 is based on a 1988/1989 XR2 so assume it is possibly the later
version.
My mechanic is going to have another look next week & I will provide him
with a black quadrant & the club mag with the article from Steve Perry
about the 2+2 clutch travel & see what can be done...otherwise it's looking
like a MK3 pedal modification although rapidly running out of funds & due
to work it is very difficult to be without a car.
Is there any detailed literature or pictures available about modifying
later pedal boxes to rectify this issue as a guide anywhere?
Many thanks, Paul.
