The Mk2 Fiesta and therefore the 2+2 didn't have a cable operated boot
release.
The early XR2's had the option of an electric solenoid operated boot
release.
So if it is a cable one it's something from another model somebody has
fitted.

Also the two gas rams need replacing as they can't hold the lid up,
again are these specific for the car or just some that a previous
owner had and fitted.
