Is the hole for locating a solenoid for remote release?

there is a hole in the opposing half of the plate. I still think I'm missing a
part. Does the plate accept a bolt that is used to fix( my means unknown) to
the rear of the lock shaft? Yours comments would be appreciated.
Sorry it's not the best quality, but does this help - it's the H4 boot lock?
