All you do is get it mot'd with a report from the mot station stating that 
the work has been carried out to a quality standard and safe to use on the 
road. You send this with your log book filled out to the new engine with 
the engine no. which also has to appear on the report. Its takes about 10 
days to be returned if no problems. Did this a few months ago for my H4 I 
replaced the EFI 1.6 with a 2.0 Black top Zetec really easy....
