Hi Mark The difference that counts is the distance from the centre of the quadrant (the middle of the hole) to the bit that the cable sits on. When this radius is bigger, the cable moves further for the same angular movement of the pedal and the bite point will be a bit further away from the floor.
If I remember correctly, the standard quadrant has a 50mm radius and the Escort one has a 55mm radius. (It might be 55mm and 60mm). This is why my modified one had bolts going through it, they just lifted the cable up a bit. Visually, look from the end where the cable sits and it is further away on the Escort quadrant. Also it's black instead of white but don't rely on that, I've also had a smaller one that was black. Hope this helps.
