Hi Mark, where exactly is your problem?
If I had to explain the whole process to a small child it would take
pages and pages, and clearly you are a bit beyond that because you
already have your midi keyboard setup correctly it seems if you can
control reaktor with it... so no problems there....
Did you create that quartz composition? Because if so, you clearly
know your way around quartz composer as well.
So the steps are pretty much like Ian mentioned in his previous mail!
I'm guessing the parameters you want to control are the ones at the
root of the QTZ? (random rotation, width, num repitions, spacing...
etc.?) - thats 12 parameters (though one of them is RGBA so 4
parameters really). The controller you bought only has 8 knobs (+ 2
more in the form of pitch bend & modulation wheel, and possibly one
more if the data entry slider transmits midi). So basically you cant
control all 15 of your parameters at the same time with that keyboard.
BUT there is a very easy workaround by changing the midi channel the
keyboard transmits on, and in QC paying attention to the midi channel.
BUT i would advise you forget about that for now, and concentrate on
just getting the 8 knobs working without thinking about midi channels
etc. Once you've got that up and running you can think about using
more controls with midi channels....
You just need to drag in ONE instance of the Midi Controllers Receiver
patch from the Patch creator and plonk it on your canvas. Open up the
SETTINGS tab for the patch (CMD+2 while the patch is selected), click
on the LEARN CONTROLLER TO OBSERVE BUTTON, and play with a slider - QC
will listen for whatever midi controller you are sending from your
keyboard, and add it as an output port to the Midi Controllers
Receiver patch. Do this 8 times with all 8 of the knobs, and you will
end up with 8 new output ports on the patch (in addition to the
default Pitch Wheel and Modulation Wheel). These output ports will
always carry the value of the associated knob (scaled down to a 0...1
value). So all you have to do now is connect each output port to one
of the input ports on the parameters you want to control. Which midi
output port to which parameter is completely up to you... depends on
which knob you want to control which parameter!!
One thing to note though, is that the Midi Controllers receiver will
output 0...1, so you will need to add a math patch before some of the
parameters to map the 0...1 to 1..300 or whatever you need...
hope that was a bit clearer!

for this to work....
please Help you kind people... Thanks MArk
