Hello Mark,
Sorry to comment late on this topic, but it's been over year since I used any
MIDI on QC,
and outside of a TX81Z (I think that's the Yamaha model number) that I had
QUITE some time
ago, I'm certainly quite a neophyte in regards to high-end musical equipment.
Anyway, as has been pointed out in the past, the setting of the MIDI 'channels'
kind of'
violates the Apple Human Interface Guidelines--I assume that it maybe makes
more sense
to a musician, but I certainly found it quite confusing--but as I said, I'm not
an electronic
musician. I did create a composition that uses the central octave of an
el-cheapo M-audio M49-e
(this was only about $100) to generate an eight bit binary display. Also I did
some things with
filtering the number of key-downs and triggering stuff on "2-down', '4-down,'
etc.
Most of these were while I was playing around learning the subtle (and not so
subtle) nuances
of this wonderous product--which I continue to do (whats 'LIFO' about the
Queues?--hmm).
