We are playing with AR Toolkit but I would love to be able to use QC
for working on 3D graphics.
The stuff by Daniele looks amazing but I'm not at that level yet.

It would be my guess that Alex is thinking about the possibility of
creating a (set of) custom patch(es) that offer some of the
capabilities that are offered by AR Toolkit.
eg a patch that has an image input for a camera image and one or
more image input for a tracking target patterns on one side, and a
series of orientations/positions/transforms of found tracking
targets as outputs.
Sounds like an interesting project. I couldn't do it (yet, anyway).
OpenCV, available from kineme.net, seems to be the closest thing,
though it does something that is quite a bit different.
