You could modify the existing Smooth patch, so it also works
transparently (as it were) with colors.
That would be cool.

Alternative blends could blend by HSL components, or even some
other color space (with some math patches to do the component
translation). They can give some interesting looks that are
difficult to reproduce in plain RGB.
