Oh! Doubleclick on the icon! That works fine; it pulls up the original menu
that appears when you create the Smart Group. I kept fixating on the grayed
out Edit field.

It does indeed. This is a great feature, and I'm pretty wow-ed by learning
that cmd-click for non-contiguous categories works!
