Thanks all for the wealth of options! I did go ahead and purchase the Kineme Quartz Crystal. Seems to be solid and does what I need (although the resulting movies are quite large, not sure why).
However, I *do* own a QT Pro license, but when I click on the Register... menu option, nothing happens. I take it there's supposed to be some sort of Sys Pref panel for QT where you enter the license key? My system seems to be missing it (OSX 10.6.8).
