Did you get any other message like this? It hangs on getting some lock,
so either some function didn't released it, or is hanging on something
else while holding the lock. In the later case you should see more
(different) messages like this.

In any case, I see there is 4.8.8 already. While there is nothing
directly related to this message in the changelog, maybe it is fixed
anyway. Will let you know after uploading new package.
