That's good to know. So the 4.9.28 that's in current-testing then, does that work properly too, or does it fail to load the uinput module? Looking at the kernel .config file in the tree, CONFIG_UINPUT=m so that module should be present. And module loading is enabled too, so there shouldn't be any obvious reason why uinput wouldn't load.
