I recommend you add "iburst" to the lines below, too.

That's because that message was considered "noisy" so it was removed.

If you want to know if ntpd is sync'd, better to use something like what
the ntp-wait script does, or looking at the (decoded) status bits on the
first line of the output of 'ntpq -c "rv 0" hostname'

Or look at the output of 'ntpq -p'.
