My name is Linda and I live in Salem, Oregon. I am a grandma of 7. I stay
at home grandma/mom to my 16 year old grandson who has been with me for
almost 10 years.
My only concern with going straight vegetarian is keeping fresh veggies at
all times. I do not have a current garden but my family will be coming over
and we all will put in a good size garden. I will be planting peach,
nectarine, lemon and apricot trees this spring. I will buy the largest size
I can get so hopefully will have all the fruit we can handle; plus some. I
also have numerous of each of green and purple seedless grapes. Now....after
its in the ground, grown and ready to ..........I must learn how to can! Not
a clue how to can anything.....And I am 59 years old!
We just had freak weather here so I had the kids bring all my grape vines
into a room which I kept at about 40-50 degrees. There was so much snow and
ice, I actually lost many branches off my trees.
Anyway, I will be reading past posts and see your files and recipes and hope
to learn a lot here. I am also trying to get my home to be self-sustaining
in case of any national emergency. Water is my only big concern but I am
reading a lot on survival sites.
Hope you all had memorial holidays!!
Linda
