To: Ken This is a recent message posted by Gary Lyben giving his best estimate on when data will be available. At one time there was a specific E-Mail address for reporting errors in data. But now it seems like most people use this mail group to report data errors. Hoard Hello -
We have switched to a different datavendor. There will now be 2 end of day files, the first (Preliminary) about 5:15 to 5:30 EST, and the second (Final) one about 7:30 to 8PM. The preliminary file will be missing a few equity prices, and a lot of mutual fund prices. These will be updated in the final file. You can determine which one you have by viewing the market report. It will be marked Preliminary or Final. Right now, there are a few indexes that are missing, these will be corrected in a day or 2. This lets the east coast users get started a little earlier than before. I just signed up for QP3 after literally 8 to 10 years of TC2k data. The program seems imposing (because I am new to it) although its primary purpose is to feed data to Amibroker. Still, the many views and filters are interesting and deserve some digging into. My first question concerns what is the earliest time to download the days data, and is this a reliable, repeatable time? It seems to take forever to update whatever is updating (TC2k was a lot faster at updating), and it also seems to take over my processor as other tasks bog down while the hard drive is clicking away. So, I would like to download or update early, say during dinner if data is available that early. A related question is does the program tell you that the data is not ready yet, or does it just plow thru downloading yesterdays data and overwriting everything that had already been downloaded? Still another related question is: what is the procedure for notifying the owner about any data problems (either incorrect data or a corrupted database, etc). Sorry for asking such basic stuff, but I hope you take pity and let me know or point me to a place where such answers might exist. Thanks much, Ken [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo!
