Bob - An excellent post (as usual) and an approach that I'm going to adopt.
This is definitely one of those best practices that should be on the top of our
lists. I suspect there are many others.

To limit the number of mutual funds loaded into AB you must start with a new
database
and DO NOT CHECK MUTUAL FUNDS when creating the database. Then take the list of
mutual funds you use to limit SPP/Quotes Plus from loading, and load it into
Amibroker
with the ASCII wizard. Be sure to check the no quotes feature, and identify the
group as
Mutual Funds. This will create the headers that the QP plug-in uses to read the
quotes.
