Hi, actually you can get qws to work with the creative labs cards well many of them.
Just tell it you want the creative for the midi output device.
The good thing about the creative sound cards is they support sound fonts.
I've got some really nice ones.
Too big for the list of course but if anyone wants more info just shout me off list. Also, many believe that you can't load the sound fonts any more due accessibility but you can use vienna to do it. Probably beyond the scope of the list but again if you want more info just shout, we do it all the time.
Cheers!

Yep although I used to have a laptop with a creative labs synth built right into it. After a few months it stopped working, that was good anyway because the drums didn't sound right in a lot of midis. It supports at least reverb and chorus and has voices which are better than MS, but nowhere near what you could get now. I haven't tried it for who knows how long now, so maybe it works. QWS didn't work with it but at the time I really didn't try to get it to work, because I didn't know as much about synths and such as I do now, and that's still not a whole lot.
