Hi james,Fortunately there is a temporary workaround. I stumbled upon a set of interesting tools in order to make this happen. They can be found athttp://www.midiox.com/ The names are midi2mtx and mtx2midi. Both tools come bundled with the mtx format specification and there is indeed a way to provide a key signature to a midi file. So, instead of using hex or binary to disassemble and then re-assemble the file I am able to use this language which is more closely understood by most people and can be edited into any text editor (notepad for instance). The files are saved again and then you can convert to and from midi and mtx. Thanks again for your supportJuan

Key signature, like time signature is a meta event. The only way to force a key signature into the MIDI file would involve manually entering it with a binary file editor. If you're interested, I can work out some details as a work-around, but it won't be pretty. Also, I am away for a week now so I won't be able to do this for a bit. Hear from you again soon. James. If inserting a key signature is perhaps not so easy as of now, what is the way to write that event in a track? like are there any values or system exclussive dijits?...
