Sorry I can't answer your question personally at this point, but I was just
going to reiterate your statement.
On the Roland Juno-G the local on/off messages are not received by the
synth either. It seems to be a common theme among the newer keyboards for
some reason.
If it is at all possible, finding and knowing the SysX for such messages
would be extremely useful.
I will however, ask friends of mine that have the Motif XS and get back to
you with regards the local on/off in menus.
If I don't, perhaps someone on this list with one will answer before I get
the chance.

Hello list,
I was working with motif xs 8 for the last couple of weeks. The results
were
awesome, it even accepts your midi in dialogs and everything, though I
really
don't like the idea that the misxing is done separately from the midi
songs
but oh well. In any case I am using the keyboard through the USB
connector
and unlike my yamahapsr, the local on and off messages do not work. i am
not
sure of how to get to the settings in the keyboard to turn local on and
off
as I am completely new to the model anyway. I looked up the midi
reference
chart... and I am not sure but it says something about local on and off
switch being 0a and it is toggled with 0 and 1 (I guess htis is for
system
exclusive). In any case would it be possible to send messages other than
what
is already specified in the local on and off commands on the menus? I
apreciate any offered information.
Juan
