Dear all,

As a follow-up to Roger’s message, I have been tracking CRAN checks on package
“terra”. Turns out that flavours "r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-clang” and
"r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-gcc” were reporting errors when checking an
earlier version of “terra” (1.7-37). As of today,
"r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-gcc” has checked the latest version (1.7-39)
without errors.

So, Roger was right: there was a cascade effect because
"r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-cland” was checking the previous version of
“terra”. The problem is likely to fix itself in the next days, when it is
likely that "r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-clang” will switch to version 1.7-37.

That said, spare a thought from CRAN developers. Their work is extraordinary.

Best
Gilberto
