Hello, Some of you may be interested in this, since this latest release focuses on the creation of a portable and extensible sockets library. This library is portable [1] to R6RS Schemes with minimal effort. I'm interested in thoughts and feedback, and I'd like to put this library forward as a draft, so that people can say, "Hey, we can get real work done without having to have everything standardized!" I wonder if I'll succeed in convincing people of this. It's also a semi-testament to the R6RS, in that many of the libraries that I thought were kind of useless in the R6RS turned out to be quite nice to use in practice. Has the R6RS done its job of making code more portable? Well, you decide.
You can find the sockets code and the rest of the repository at <gopher://gopher.sacrideo.us/1arcrepo>. Aaron W. Hsu [1] No, it will not run out of the box without some porting effort, sorry. -- A professor is one who talks in someone else's sleep. _______________________________________________ r6rs-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.r6rs.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/r6rs-discuss
