Regardless of whether the horse won or not. I doubt CDT will be chasing another derby . . . he just didn't stay. More proof, not that I needed any, that a sharp sprint at the end of a 2100m race doesn't equate to a horse being able to see out 2400m, or any jump in distance. >From a punting viewpoint, I'll nominate BHANDARA as horse of the day. Brilliant final sprint to clear out by 4 lengths in the final 200m. She'll now go straight into the Thorndon and will give COG HILL and company a real fright. She's now in my betting stable. Another beautiful day in Auckland [that's two consecutive days] so the Ellerslie track should be perfect today.
