I know it's really not a solution, but I was having a ton of problems with A
Small Orange shared hosts, and after spending the weekend e-mailing back and
forth with their tech support, I simply went over to slicehost and purchased
their smallest slice. For $20 / mo you get your own server and root access.
I had Radiant running in no time, not to mention, I have an ability to
change the configuration at any time without e-mailing anyone.

I know it's more than shared hosting, but I just consider it an educational
expense for now :-).
