Nope, it won't work on 0.8. But you can install 0.9 as gem, 'gem install radiant --pre' will install Radiant 0.9 RC2. I don't know 0.9 if it's safe for production, not because it's not stable, but because many other extensions are not yet compatible with 0.9.
