You miss the point. The main value being shared on Twitter these days are 
-hyperlinks-. The key value of Twitter for me is:

- getting real time notices of when people whose opinions I care about post 
something new (to a lesser extent, it also provides a back channel to comment / 
converse on that content)

- see what people in my larger sphere are talking about / reading, to minimize 
the "echo chamber" (and vice versa)

As a semi-public space, Twitter enables a different kind of discovery and 
discussion than elsewhere. 

It also forces me to edit thoughts into 140 characters; you should try it some 
time Billy. :-)
