Ernie: I get your point about a post war outcome which is good and which is lasting.
Actually this is a major part of what my "game" is all about, to wit, visualizing what a lasting peace might look like so that we can work toward it. I recently resumed work on the game but it is so damned difficult to get everything "just right." Anyone can draw a scribble map but my objective is, in effect, to map out a whole "new Earth" and what it should look like in the future with all the details in place so that all kinds of important stuff is not forgotten or overlooked. When will there be something for "show and tell" ? Wish I could tell you but all that can be said is "soon as possible." Not Clausewitz. Or Auschwitz. Total commitment is not quite the same as total war. You worry I am not committed to victory. I worry you are not committed to doing the hard work to secure a lasting peace. Maybe we need to start by writing up a covenant of what we want the other to agree to. That sort of productive Values Statement might actually lead somewhere...
